What are we, as humans?

What are we, as humans?

humans, as big and important as we think we are, are close to nothing. Humans aren't worth anything, we aren't powerful enough, strong enough, smart enough, we aren't enough of anything. We think we may one day roam the universe… but did you know… travel faster than light speed is impossible. It's a cosmic speed limit. You know the closest solar system is 3-4 light years away? With light speed technology, it would take 3-4 years to get there. What happens if we have to travel to a star system 600 light years away? What do we do? Go into hyper sleep? Than what? We run out of gas? Fuel? Power? Of course, the method would be to use nuclear reactions, or to use energy from the multiple suns, but, how are we certain that the planet will even host life. Did you know to get to that closest solar system? Over 54 THOUSAND years. That's about a quarter of the time humans have been roaming the Earth. Humans live an average of 75-80 years. Say we have a group of people who live to 100. They pass that gene on throughout time, and their offspring live to 100. That would be 54 HUNDRED generations of people. That's fucking insane! As humans we like to dream. But there isn't any way we can make it. We are irrelevant to the mass of things. Just tiny specs of nothing, in a place of… everything. We talk about the future, "Oh, how great it would be if humans could travel like they do in Star Wars and Star Trek!" "I hope humans could travel faster than the speed of light one day!" As humans, we are nothing. We are about as relevant as a cockroach to the universe. We are like cockroaches to the universe. We always being stomped on. We always have terror thrown our way. But you know what? We may be irrelevant to the universe, but we are everything we got. We continue to make great strides in technology; AI controlled cars and robots, cures for once incurable diseases, genetically modified foods, we are an incredible species. A squirrels life revolves around a tree. A humans life revolves around an entire planet. Keep your hopes up! Help your fellow humans! Work together! Find a way! Humans were an accident, but there's a reason we have come this far. We improvise. We are good at everything, maybe not the best at those things, but we can do everything gosh darn well. We are the most advanced species on our planet and that we know of. Who knows? Maybe one day, the laws of physics will be rewritten, and that 54,000 year journey will be completed in a matter of minutes. :-)
